It seems ages since we broke our ducks (and in some case got ducks) during the first ever Sultans of Swing 40-over battle.

Now it’s time for the second game of the season, and although football fever may be sweeping the nation, cricket remains the greatest show on turf.

This Sunday, June 13, we are taking on The John Minshull Invitational XI at CSSC Chiswick. Some details and a map below, so no-one gets lost this time.

It’s a 1pm meet for a 2pm start, please try to make it on time. There may be people driving from Stoke Newington (Tommy? Tim?) if so, they may be able to give others lifts. Sort it out among yourselves.

There is a bar, and showers, changing rooms, etc, and our kind and generous (is there any other kind?) sponsors Greene King have given us a couple of cases of IPA to glug on at some point during the afternoon. Oh, and Dicko‘s doing the tea.

I’m very positive about the new look Sultans team for this game, so let’s try to notch one up in the wins column.

See you on Sunday.
