You are cordially invited to the inaugural Sultans of Swing CC end of season dinner and awards.
After some deliberation the committee has decided to celebrate a fine first season on (and off) the field with drinks, dinner and prizes at the Bull & Last pub in Highgate (NW5 1QS) on Saturday, November 13, from 7pm.
This is a fantastic pub and they are putting together a three-course menu to rival our finest teas, including a scotch egg starter, plus two other courses… and all for the paltry sum of around £20 per head.
Although we’ll be upstairs in a private (ish) room so not to upset the regulars with our polite conversation and appreciation of fine foods, beer (Greene King IPA) and wine, it’s been decided that to make the event an even more civil affair partners are very welcome, nay encouraged to attend.
And so to the awards – there are 11 gongs up for grabs, including one for the ladies, so it’s likely that you’ll all bag something (except you, Boss), and one of you will walk away with the coveted Player’s Player of the Season trophy (with your name engraved on it and everything).
Our sponsors have promised to weigh in with a few prizes too.
Please let me know whether you can make this glittering bash or not before the end of the month, and whether you’ll be bringing a wife, girlfriend, model, call-girl, etc. I’ll send out menu options nearer the time but it’ll be along the lines of scotch egg, fish & chips/pie, apple crumble and custard (plus some veggie options, Steve).
