So here we are. We have a website. We have a democratically elected board. We have a name – again democratically elected. We’d better bloody well get a team together now.

As chairman of Sultans of Swing CC (not to be confused with Sultans of Ping FC) I am humbled by the interest in getting this thing off the ground and the enthusiasm (so far) of members and potential members to free up time to come to the pub on a week night and drink. And drink some more. And discuss cricket.

Tom, our fixtures sec, has been busy begging fellow nomadic/friendly/dubiously talented teams to give us a game and so far the season is shaping up well. If you’re keen on playing the Sultans, get in touch with him here: fixtures@sultansofswing.co.uk
